For the past five years, my family and I have owned a smaller toy shop in a small, quaint town. As traffic started to dwindle, my store was slowly losing customers. We had a meeting at the school I work for today about primary assemblies and how we can make them more interesting for our students. My personal opinion on the whole situation was that we should include brief videos and some roll playing acts to help get all of the kids involved. By getting them involved, they are able to learn the material hands on and gain feedback at the same time. We all know most kids get embarrassed when standing up in front of large groups, but we can help diminish this by adding humor and excitement in the assemblies. Hopefully all the staff take my ideas into consideration as I think it will truly help every student gain more understanding of what they are learning about. Just having the same old thing year after year will only bore them and cause them to drift away during the assembly.
